In the wake of the cancellation of the Carbon St. Patrick’s Day Parade after last year, the Jim Thorpe Irish Fest is taking place on the weekends of March 9-10 and 16-17. The two-weekend festival includes a variety of events and entertainment including the Blackwater Celtic Band, Kilmaine Saints, Mckay Pipe Band, Emerald Isle Step Dancers, and the Youth Celtic Fiddle Showcase & Competition. Attendees can also take part in special brunches and dinners. With the Pot O’ Gold Passport, you can get a free t-shirt as well as discounts at participating restaurants and businesses throughout Jim Thorpe.
On Saturday, March 23, 2019, Harrisburg is hosting a St. Patrick’s Day Parade beginning at 2:00 p.m. The parade includes a variety of groups, such as pipe and drum bands, Irish dance groups, celebratory floats, and more. The parade route will begin on the corner of Market and Front Streets before turning right on Second Street and completing the loop with a right on North Street then Front Street.
The 16th Annual Girardville St. Patrick’s Day Parade is happening on Saturday, March 30, 2019 beginning at noon.
