Locals taking care of locals.

How Skook started

In March 2014, the dream of opening Skook Auto Sales began. Wayne has been here since day one. In June 2019 our buy here pay here program took flight. As the company grew and changed over time, we moved away from in-house financing. Today we help customers with good, bad or no credit through outside lenders who report to the credit bureaus, so on-time payments help build credit history.

Today Skook Auto Sales employs 15 people we consider family, and customer service has always been the most essential part of our business. We’re locals taking care of locals: all but one of us lives right here in Schuylkill County.

Best used car selection around Schuylkill County

Ford, Chevrolet, Toyota, Jeep, Honda or a luxury model — we keep one of the largest used selections in the county so you don’t have to drive all over to find the right one. Browse inventory or stop by and we’ll take you on a test drive.

Complete reconditioning

Every vehicle gets a complete reconditioning before it goes on our lot — mechanical and safety updates through cosmetic work — so you drive home in a car you can count on. Then we back it with a 3-month/3,000-mile powertrain warranty and our 30-day guarantee: if we missed a repair, we cover the cost.

Giving back

We have a personal connection to people with special needs and are engaged with St. Joe’s School for Special Needs in Pottsville, which has brought new programs to the area including Conductive Education, a method developed in Hungary. During the COVID-19 pandemic we bought and distributed thousands of dollars in local restaurant and grocery gift cards to neighbors who lost work through no fault of their own. And we sponsor galas, tournaments and fundraisers across the county.

The owner comes last

We believe in taking great care of our employees and our customers. Without employees there are no customers, and without customers there is no business — so the owner comes last.
