Information we collect

Contact, vehicle and appointment requests — your name, phone number, email address, ZIP code or town, the vehicles you're interested in, preferred times and the messages you write.
Credit applications — your name, contact details, date of birth, Social Security number, home address, residence and housing-payment details, employment and income, down payment, how you describe your credit, and whether someone will apply with you.
Trade-in details — year, make, model, trim, mileage, condition and VIN of a vehicle you'd like to trade or sell, including through the Dealer Funnel trade tool on this site.
Service bookings — your vehicle's year, make, model, VIN and mileage, the services or symptoms you describe, and your appointment time.
Live chat — the messages you type in our website chat and the contact details you share there.
Job applications — your contact details, experience and anything else you choose to send through our careers page.
Questions typed into our "Ask" box — the text of your question, used to generate an answer.
Calls and text messages — your phone number, the content of texts you send us, and records of our calls and messages with you.
Information collected automatically — your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, links clicked, the site that referred you and approximate location, collected with cookies, pixels, local storage and similar technologies (see Cookies and analytics).

How we use information

To respond to your requests and work your vehicle purchase, trade-in, service appointment or financing.
To process credit applications you submit, including obtaining your credit report, with your authorization.
To contact you by phone, text and email about your request and, as you've agreed, our vehicles and services.
To operate, secure, troubleshoot and improve this website, and to understand how visitors use it.
To comply with the law, keep required business records, and protect our customers, our business and our rights.

Lenders and financing partners — when you apply for financing, we share your application with the banks, credit unions and finance companies we work with so they can evaluate your request.
Dealer Funnel, our service provider for this website, customer relationship management (CRM), lead handling, live chat and text messaging. Dealer Funnel processes information on our behalf and may not use it for its own marketing.
Other service providers that help us run our business — website hosting, databases, email delivery, an AI provider that processes questions typed into the "Ask" box, our online payment portal — under contracts that limit their use of your information to the services they provide to us.
Analytics providers, such as Google Analytics, that help us understand how this website is used (see below).
When required by law or to protect rights and safety, and as part of a sale or transfer of our business.

We do not sell personal information, and we don't share your mobile number or text-messaging consent with anyone for their own marketing.

Consumer financing information

As a dealer that arranges consumer financing, we're a financial institution under the federal Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA). Nonpublic personal information you give us to obtain financing — on this website or at the dealership — is handled under our GLBA privacy notice, which we provide when you apply or finance a vehicle with us and which controls if it differs from this policy. We protect that information with the safeguards required by the FTC Safeguards Rule. Ask us for a copy of the notice at any time.

Cookies and similar technologies (pixels, local storage) help this website work — for example, remembering vehicles you've saved and your cookie choice — and help us understand how the site is used. We use analytics tools, including Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, that collect information such as pages viewed, device and browser type, approximate location and how you arrived at the site.

Text messaging terms

If you give us your mobile number (for example, by submitting a form that describes our texting), Skook Auto Sales may send text messages about your inquiry, appointments, financing and our vehicles and services, including with automated technology. Consent is not a condition of purchase.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
Reply STOP to any message to opt out; we'll confirm and stop texting that number. Reply HELP for help, or call (570) 593-5278.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties, except service providers (such as Dealer Funnel) that send messages on our behalf.

Chats on this website are provided by Dealer Funnel. Chats are recorded and may be reviewed by our team to respond to you and to improve our service.

Data security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. This website uses HTTPS encryption for information in transit, and stored submissions are access-restricted. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please contact us right away if you believe your information has been compromised.

Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described above, including to complete your transaction and to meet legal, tax, accounting and record-keeping requirements, then delete or de-identify it.

Children

This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
